The Comprehensive African Agriculture Development Programme (CAADP) is steering Africa towards agricultural transformation, economic growth, and food security. Over the past two decades, African leaders have been committed to this cause, culminating in two significant declarations: the Maputo Declaration (2003-2014) and the Malabo Declaration (2014 onwards).

The recent endorsement of the 4th CAADP Biennial Review Report marks a milestone in our journey. This report, covering 2015-2022, highlights our progress and areas needing attention. It's crucial as we approach the culmination of the Malabo Declaration in 2025 and embark on shaping a new agenda for our continent.

We've come a long way since 2003. Africa has experienced robust economic and agricultural growth, seen a surge in agricultural trade, and witnessed improvements in poverty and nutrition indicators. However, challenges remain, especially in meeting Malabo targets concerning seeds, soil health, fertilizers, and post-harvest management.
