Biography:
Angel Navuri is an award-winning Tanzania journalist, she’s the current head of special editions at The Guardian Newspaper that works in collaboration, with development partners. A specialist in development communications, she is passionate with agriculture and also strings for Africa News Agency based in Amsterdam.
She mooted the first agriculture-focused pull out, a bi-monthly published in The Guardian Newspaper with support from International Center for Journalists in 2010. Titled Kilimo Kwanza in Swahili (meaning Agriculture First) the pull-out has starred the publication, with three awards as a leading paper in East Africa for scaling up agriculture content.
Locally, she is a member of Journalist Association of Tanzania and Association of Journalists Against Aids.
Navuri, is also an associate of Women Press Institute for Freedom of Press (Washington DC) and Gender Links Organization (South Africa), Investigative Reporters and Editors. Under the AUDA-NEPAD, she is an affiliate of CAADP Network Journalists, PIDA Network Journalists and also deputy coordinator for Agenda 2063 Media Network in East Africa region.
