Agricultural landscapes have been at the centre of livelihoods and well-being of African populations for many generations. This paper presents findings from various publications which highlight the benefits of investing in integrated landscape management (ILM) research and development (R&D) in order to preserve agricultural biodiversity and enhance productivity. Research gaps that inhibit ILM are discussed, alongside the highest priority ILM research needs. The paper concludes with a list of existing platforms that can be used to upscale research findings and incorporate them into policy and practice.
