AUDA-NEPAD ABNE in partnership with the Ministry of Green Economy and Environment of Zambia, provided technical support for the final national validation and adoption of “Revised Biotechnology and Biosafety Policy 2022” from 8 to 9 September 2022, in Lusaka, Zambia.

The validation meeting brought together 64 participants from nine Zambia provinces namely- Central, Copperbelt, Luapula, Muchinga, North-western, Northern, Southern, Western and  Eastern. Others were from Lusaka including- Universities, farmers association, several Government of Zambia’s Ministries, NGOs and the Zambia National Biosafety Authority.

This meeting was the final step before the submission of the Revised “Biotechnology and Biosafety Policy 2022”to the Cabinet for adoption.
