Student Centered Teaching and Learning - a tool box for facilitators Student Centered Teaching and Learning - a tool box for facilitator

Student-centered learning places the trainee at the center of the teaching and learning process. It focuses on the trainee’s needs, abilities, background and interests, with the facilitator serving primarily as a guide through the learning process. The approach marks a significant shift from facilitator-centered pedagogy, where trainees take on a more passive role while facilitators transmit knowledge that trainees learn primarily through rote memorization.

Drawing from the skills development experience of ATVET project, this printable A2 poster gives facilitators a quick-reference summary of the 9 pillars of student-centered learning.
