Key Results
Niger is involved in the Single African Sky programme, a continental programme launched in 2008 to create a highlevel, satellite-based air navigation system for the African continent. The initiative will see the liberalisation of civil aviation in Africa, which in-turn will enhance connectivity as well as spur trade, tourism and employment creation. The project contributes to the implementation of the Yamoussoukro Decision
Niger is also a beneficiary of the Dakar-Niamey Multimodal Corridor programme which is designed to modernise the most heavily travelled ARTIN corridor in West Africa and facilitate trade, OSBPs and PPPs
The Niger River regulation framework which involves nine countries has been developed as part of the FOMI Hydropower station project in Guinea which also includes irrigation water supply for Mali. NEPAD has also supported a pre-feasibility study for enhanced and sustainable utilization of the Lullemeden Aquifer System
