Key Results
Kenya was interconnected with four other EAC capital cities and the submarine optic fiber cable from Dar es Salaam to Mombasa in 2013 through a regional optic fibre project championed by His Excellency, President Paul Kagame of Rwanda. Kenya is also a member of the Task team for the Smart Africa Initiate which was established after the 2014 Smart Africa summit in Rwanda
The Country leads the implementation of the LAPSSET Corridor Project which has been integrated into its vision 2030 and is the second largest transport corridor project. It includes the construction of the Manda Bay Port in Lamu, Standard railway to Juba in South Sudan and to Addisababa Ethiopia, Road network, Oil pipelines (Southern Sudan to Ethiopia), Oil Refinery at Bargoni Kenya, 3 airports and 3 resort cities. The project was endorsed as a PICI project by the HSGOC at the AU Summit in Johannesburg, South Africa in June 2015
