Dear Members,
The issue of skills development and training in agriculture has become a priority on the development agenda for the past few years.
With the rise in youth unemployment on the African continent, agriculture remains one of the key sectors for youth to be gainfully employed and contribute to Africa’s food security. The focus on women skills development has also become necessary to ensure that women who constitute over 60% of the agriculture workforce, are equipped with the necessary skills to improve their income.
The ATVET Community of Practice would like to hear from you:
“What are you doing currently in the area of Skills Development and Training in your country?”
We are interested to hear from you of any success stories that you would like to share, challenges and bottle necks that have impeded your success and best practices or information that is relevant to the topic of Agriculture Skills Development and Training.
This does not have to be in the context of the ATEVT project, but broader. This forum exists to share experience far and wide and all inputs’ within the topic context are welcome.
We will also in the next few weeks post short stories of several people who have been a part of the CAADP-ATVET journey and how being a part of this ATVET project has changed their lives and those around them in a positive way.
We look forward to hearing your stories and comments in the discussion comments below.
We look forward to an enriching exchange!!
