The Australian Government-funded Infrastructure Skills for Development program has entered a second phase, IS4D2, building on the successes of the pilot phase in which you were involved. IS4D2 will be holding a mid-term workshop in Johannesburg 1-3 August, 2016. The purpose of this workshop is three-fold:
- To reflect on participants’ progress to date.
- To expose participants to new topics of discussion, relevant to all of them.
- To give participants the opportunity to strengthen linkages with their peers and to build new peer networks with alumni.
As an alumnus of the IS4D program, we and this year’s participants are particularly interested in your views of IS4D and how IS4D has influenced or impacted you in your role. This letter is to formally invite you to express interest in attending IS4D2’s mid-term workshop and making a presentation on your experience of IS4D. The presentation should include an
To express interest in participating in the mid-term workshop, please submit a short justification for your attendance, consisting of no more than 500 words. Responses should include:
- Why you would like to attend the mid-term workshop.
- How it would benefit you in your current role.
- A description of the presentation you propose to deliver to participants, specifically focusing on your experience of IS4D, the impact it has had on you professionally and the impact that it has had on your organisation.

We will notify you shortly after submission if your proposal has been selected. Following this, we will contact you to make the necessary logistical arrangements, the costs of which will be borne by IS4D.
