Pan-Africanism and Africa’s Development

Mr Amine Adoum, Director of Programme Delivery & Coordination

  • What is a pan-Africanist?

  • Looking at the guiding philosophy of the OAU charter: Pan-Africanism,  centred on African socialism, unity, the communal characteristic and practices of African communities, and a drive to embrace Africa’s culture and common heritage.

  • Will pan-Africanism still survive given the high levels of mobility and external cultural influences?

  • Are institutions such as the African Union and its organs still relevant in keeping in the pan-Africanism flame alive or should that be relegated to the history books only?

  • Is the spirit of Pan-Africanism alive in AUDA-NEPAD?

  • How the arts, culture and heritage can help to build the Africa We Want.
