The Comprehensive Africa Agriculture Development Programme, was endorsed in Maputo, Mozambique in 2003 by African Heads of States, to stimulate the reforms necessary for agriculture to have a positive impact on socio-economic growth and sustainable development. Through CAADP, agriculture is becoming an engine for growth in Africa’s largely agrarian economies with a tangible and sustainable impact on improving food security and nutrition, contributing to wealth and job creation, empowering women and youth, as well as enabling the expansion of exports.
