AU launches the Africa Agriculture Transformation Scorecard

The African Union launches the Africa Agriculture Transformation Scorecard (AATS) at the 30th AU Summit – a revolutionary new tool to drive agricultural productivity and development and to track progress made towards the June 2014 Malabo Declaration on Accelerated Agricultural Growth and Transformation for Shared Prosperity and Improved Livelihoods.

Five countries, namely Rwanda, Mali, Morocco, Morocco and Ethiopia are awarded for best performance in accelerating agricultural transformation. The first Inaugural Biennial Review Report reveals that only 20 of the 47 Member States that reported are on track towards achieving the commitments set out in the Malabo Declaration. Regionally, East Africa performed best, followed by Southern Africa. The next report will be presented in January 2020.
