The Africa Union Commission (AUC) commissioned a feasibility study on ''Enterprise Africa Network'' (EAN) within the framework of the European Union (EU)-funded programme, Joint Africa-EU Strategy (JAES) Support Mechanism II which started with the mobilisation of an Expert Working Group (EWG) Meeting in Abidjan (Ivory Coast), in December 2017. This meeting was aimed at discussing the EAN project’s goals and define its scope. A second Expert Working Group Meeting took place in November, 2018 in Addis Ababa (Ethiopia) within the framework of Africa Industrialisation Week with the objective to present the outcomes of the feasibility study to African private sector.

Invitation for Bids

The African Union Commission with support from the European Commission has set aside funds for the purchase of 12 (twelve) Earth Stations for the Human Resources Science and Technology’s (HRST) Global Monitoring for Environment and Security (GMES) and Africa. The Commission now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for Supply, Delivery & Installation of GMES &Africa Stations and Delivery of Training whose specifications are detailed in the bid document.

Bidders are required to furnish the following:

  • Valid registration documents
  • Dealership certificates or Manufacturer’s authorisation form (if not the manufacturer)
  • Duly signed bid form in the format attached to the bid document
  • Details of after sales service
  • Warranty period for the items

The deadline for submission of bids is 13 September 2019 at 1500hrs Addis Ababa time.  Late bids will not be accepted. 

Sealed bids will be opened on 13 September 2019 at immediately after the deadline for submission in the presence of bidders or bidders’ representatives who choose to attend, at the address below.
