Strengthening Pharmaceutical Innovation in Africa is a long-term capacity building programme established by African researchers and political leaders who are involved in health research and pharmaceutical innovation. This revised report presents findings from a review of the literature (Chapter 1 to Chapter 4) which contextualises the Pharmaceutical Innovation Grid for assessment. Chapter 5 presents tools and approaches for countries to develop pharmaceutical innovation systems. The report concludes with an analysis of the major findings and recommendations for next steps.
