For the first time, Africa will be presenting a Common Position and Consensus on Development Effectiveness based on its own context, needs and priorities, at the Fourth High Level Forum on Aid Effectiveness in Busan (HLF-4).
The Agreement aims to support the implementation of joint efforts between the NEPAD Agency and Ministry of Agriculture of the People’s Republic of China (MoA)in support of the implementation of Africa’s agriculture and rural development agenda.
On 12 September, NEPAD Agency’s CEO, Dr Ibrahim Assane Mayaki, had a formal and private engagement with Ambassadors from Asia to South Africa. During the engagement, he briefed them on the progress in the implementation of the NEPAD Agenda.
A three day retreat to prepare for the elaboration of a comprehensive capacity building programme for the African Union, under the United Nations- African Union Ten Year Capacity Building Programme (TYCBP) is being held in Debre Zeit, from 7-9 September.
As Nepad marks ten years it can be argued that the first decade of Nepad was focused on laying out the framework for the ownership and leadership of the African development agenda by putting focus on programme and project design.
