Gender Climate Change Agriculture Support

The NEPAD Agency recognises the impact that climate change will have on African agriculture, especially African women farmers and designed the five-year Gender, Climate Change and Agriculture Support Project (GCCASP) with support from the Norwegian government. The project supports the implementation of regional and country level interventions to empower rural women and other vulnerable sections of communities to better cope with the adverse effects of climate change.

A considerable amount of ground work has been done thus far through various phases namely: (1) design/development phase; (2) inception phase; and currently, (3) resource mobilisation phase; in the participating countries of Ethiopia, Cameroon, Malawi, Niger and Rwanda.
