“Tear down Africa’s trade walls”

Today I have read an excellent article in The Economist: it shows the importance of regional integration through the prism of internal trade. The analysis in this article is sad and yet true : “whether to protect their dominance or avoid hardship, most countries revert to protectionism”, even if “broad and shallow agreements are the norm”. Africa is indeed the least integrated continent in the world. Bridging the gap in infrastructure is thus vital for economic advancement and sustainable development. However, this can only be achieved through regional and continental cooperation and solution-finding.
